JFD wins Award for Diver Health Monitoring technology
Dr Fraser Stewart won in the Engineering Excellence category at the 2021 Innovate UK KTP Awards. Led by Fraser, the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between JFD Fathom Systems and the University of Strathclyde won in the Engineering Excellence category for its wearable health monitoring solution for saturation divers.

Successful NSRS Silverlink Local In-Water Training
JFD, the world-leading underwater capability provider serving the commercial and defence diving markets and part of James Fisher and Sons plc, has successfully completed another mobilisation of the entire NATO Submarine Rescue System (NSRS) Intervention system in Glasgow, Scotland. Conducted in March, against the backdrop of COVID-19, this latest Silverlink Local In-Water Training (SL LIWT 21) exercise, illustrates JFD’s resolve to overcome challenges.

JFD developing comms upgrade for NSRS
JFD, the world leading underwater capability provider serving the commercial and defence diving markets and part of James Fisher and Sons plc, has developed a fibre optic video and voice communications network upgrade to the NATO Submarine Rescue System (NSRS) and is waiting to conduct sea trials of the system. For the first time, the system will provide visual communications between the submarine rescue vehicle, the dive supervisor and the bridge commander, all from the vessel deck. This offering combines the heritage of JFD with the fibre optic technology from Fathom Systems (part of JFD), a leading provider of diver communications, for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
