CSTF - 200406 prod image.pngThe Ansti Computerised Surface Test Facility (CSTF) has been specifically designed to allow dive shops / service centres to conduct performance testing of serviced regulators & breathing apparatus. It is a cost effective, computerised facility that comprises a control module and a laptop (no printer).

The software is intuitive to use providing a comprehensive customer / regulator database, digital display for set-up and a fully automated cracking pressure / high flow test for determination of performance. To set-up the regulator after servicing, the CSTF digitally displays; (1) the interstage pressure for setting the first stage and (2) the cracking pressure for setting the second stage. The fully automated, computer controlled flow test may then be initiated. This will measure / display the cracking pressure and during the high flow test measure / display the inhale breathing resistance, interstage pressure drop and high pressure drop. Upon completion of the test, the test data can be stored and also printed in the form of a Test Certificate, providing a record of the test for the customer. A regulator / customer history can be built up over a period of time for statistical records.

The high flow demanded by the CSTF approaches the peak flow requirements at a depth of 50 metres and 62.5 litres per minute ventilation. This, if the regulator can supply sufficient air during the high flow test without exceeding 25mbar of inhale breathing resistance, it is likely to meet the above depth / ventilation demand.

WHY IS SERVICING IMPORTANT?

As outlined in the Technical Manual, the CSTF pressure sensors are required to be checked for conformance to manufacturer’s tolerance annually. This minimises any long-term effects of drift and enabling the readings displayed on the regulator certificates from the CSTF to be valid for the following 12 months.

 

WHAT DOES THE SERVICE COVER?

The CSTF service covers a detailed inspection of all mechanical and electrical parts, electrical safety check, flow performance calibration check, leak test of pipework, conformance check of pressure sensors, recalibrating the laptop to the sensors and recalibration of the High Pressure Gauge. Any parts identified to be out of calibration, worn or damaged, will be listed and any additional cost advised before continuing the service.

In order to perform the service/calibration JFD require the CSTF, laptop (with power supply) or the desktop computer, and the test orifice to be carefully packed and shipped to the Service Centre at the address shown below.

The CSTF will be cleaned and returned with the computer and surface test orifice as well as the new calibration documentation pack, when complete.
