JFD, part of James Fisher & Sons PLC, proudly recognises their Lead Biomedical Engineer, Dr Fraser Stewart, who has won the Young Professional Award at the Offshore Achievement Awards 2024. The nomination is testament to Frasers outstanding contributions in the field of biomedical engineering and the development of medical monitoring devices for divers and submariners.

This technology is a breakthrough in the hyperbaric environment, allowing divers and submariners to track vital health information and subsequently identify and react to potentially dangerous issues before their health is significantly impacted. During his six-year tenure at JFD, Fraser has played a vital role in various projects, notably as a key member of the JFD InVicto ventilator team amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Fraser continues to work closely alongside top industry professionals, industry and JFD’s existing clients to develop biomedical monitoring solutions which give a new dimension to medical monitoring dramatically enhancing operational safety. With Life Support at its core, this technology lends itself particularly well across a number of JFD product lines including Defence Diving & Hyperbarics; Submarine Rescue and Commercial Diving.
