JFD Secures Contract with TechnipFMC Enhancing Portable Hyperbaric Rescue Capability and Global Support of Diver Safety
-
JFD continues long standing relationship with TechnipFMC to support their near term and future global diving requirements
-
JFD offers comprehensive Hyperbaric Rescue solutions with over 30 years of proven capability
-
This contract demonstrates a shared commitment to global diver safety
JFD, part of James Fisher and Sons plc, and world leading underwater capability provider serving the commercial and defence diving markets, is proud to continue its support to TechnipFMC, renowned leader in the energy industry, for the provision of assured availability and operation of market leading Portable Hyperbaric Rescue Facilities (PHRF) supporting diver evacuation in the event of an emergency.
The requirement for a Hyperbaric Reception contingency during saturation diving operations is of paramount importance to enable divers to Transfer Under Pressure (TUP) into a Hyperbaric Lifeboat (SPHL) and transport to a safe, secure, and medically supported facility whereby the decompression process can take place.
JFD has been supporting TechnipFMC since 2007 with the provision of hyperbaric reception solutions including its fixed 24 man facility at its National Hyperbaric Centre (NHC) in Aberdeen and Portable HRF assets which can be mobilised anywhere in the world.
This three-year contract (with the option to extend by a further two years) will support TechnipFMC UK and global diving operations with PHRF and Life Support Packages (LSP) supported by JFD technicians and over 40 years industry expertise.
As global diving operations continue to expand there is increased demand for PHRFs which are able to mobilise at the nearest nominated port of recovery to the dive site; ensuring divers have a viable evacuation solution readily and closely available.
Danny Gray, JFD Commercial Diving and Hyperbaric Director said:
“JFD is delighted to continue our support and partnership with TechnipFMC, one of the leading global Diving Contractors as they strive to enhance the performance and efficiency of their operations while keeping quality and safety at the core.
This contract extension demonstrates not only the continued industry recognition to ensure diver safety, but also JFD’s ability to adapt to customer requirement by providing an efficient and robust solution which supports modern day global diving operations.
The complex and critical process of diver recovery under pressure cannot be underestimated and JFD is proud to continue providing our unique expertise in this area to TechnipFMC.”
For nearly 40 years JFD have played a pivotal role in advancing hyperbaric rescue capability and safety and the company has a unique perspective through a long standing reputation as leading manufacturer of Saturation Diving and HRF systems as well as being a training provider for diving operators and supervisors.
JFD has a total of four PHRF assets around the world and a 24 man facility at its National Hyperbaric Centre in Aberdeen supported by an advanced hyperbaric medical facility.
JFD is committed to continually enhancing the safety for those who spend their lives subsea through deep customer understanding, offering proven and robust equipment, comprehensive in-service support solutions and trusted expertise.
