Why Submarine Atmosphere Monitoring Matters
Monitoring internal air quality is essential to protect submariners and sensitive onboard systems. Traditional gas analysis systems are bulky and limited in functionality. JFD’s iSAMS changes that—replacing over 30 pieces of legacy equipment with just 7 compact, intelligent units, all networked together for seamless control and monitoring.

A Smarter, Streamlined System

iSAMS consists of three core components:

• Intelligent Submarine Environmental Monitor (iSEM)
  Installed in each compartment. Configurable with up to six Universal Sensing Modules per unit, with additional analogue interfaces for third-party sensors. iSEMs provide local readouts, so crew can view environmental status in real time.
• Universal Sensing Module
  Houses a standardised sensor interface for easy module swapping and menu-based reconfiguration. Supports auto, semi-auto, or manual calibration.
• Centralised Monitoring Unit (CMU)
  Located in the control room, it collects and displays data from all iSEMs, enabling cross-compartment monitoring and early detection of atmospheric risks.
